INFECTIOUS BREAKS PRESENT THE OFFICIAL CELEBRATION PARTY OF DUSTED BREAKS' BREAKSPOLL 2010 AWARD FOR “BEST NEW LABEL” !!!!!
It's been quite a year for Dusted Breaks, and the breaks world has clearly taken notice as Dusted Breaks have been awarded the Best New Label award for 2010, as voted for by their peers! Infectious Breaks are very proud to play host to the official afterparty, at the Barn on the 20th March!
For those that aren't aware, Dusted Breaks head honcho is none other than Infectious Breaks resident Lee Martin, and he's been working hard to make Dusted Breaks the best new breaks label out there! In the past year, they've had many top names signed to their label, including Cut La Roc, Groove Diggerz, IITone, Ben & Lex, Ways & Means, Eschericks, and amongst others, Mobius. Speaking of which, our headliner for the event.....
ALI MOBIUS
Following their massive releases on Dusted Breaks last year (The Lab & Tools Of The Trade), we've been dying to get Mobius back! Their Infectious Breaks debut was a long time ago, back when the Havana bar was Infectious Breaks' home, and they smashed it! A few more releases under their belt under Ape Records, and more lined up under Flextone Records, they keep going from strength to strength! Taking influence from everywhere from hip-hop to techno, always playing an energetic and passionate set, not one to be missed – and a perfect act to raise the roof for the party! A real showcase for Dusted Breaks, and a great example as to why Dusted Breaks really are the “Best New Label” !!!
CHRIS CALLOWS
A big name in the Lewes/Brighton area, Chris has been DJing since the early 90s, so you know this man is passionate about his tunes! Playing along greats such as Slipmatt, Randall and Mickey Finn, his early passion was oldskool rave and the free party scene. After a spell spinning drum 'n' bass, he's slowed it down a bit and now only spins the best breakbeat he can lay his hands on – much to the delight of the Infectious Breaks crowd! He has held a 3 year residency as the Lansdowne Arms in Lewes, and also has a radio show on nu-perception.com which goes out every Tuesday from 6 till 8 (so tune in if you want a demo!!)
Holding the fort in the main room will be the Infectious Breaks residents – Lee Martin, Ignition, and Mike Cubist, warming it all up and laying down that party vibe!

The event also marks the return for Error! The house 'n' breaks night has been dormant for a while, since their 2008 birthday where they welcomed Anil Chawla down to the Drift bar for a crazy halloween night where acid house was king! Error will be hosted the Tardis room for this event, and welcome a couple of guests in the form of Luke Fuller and Mayzee.
Luke Fuller is a Punchfunk resident, playing for the boys out in Ibiza and back in Portsmouth. Playing it rhythmic and focussing on the groove, it's actually impossible to hear Luke play and not move! Just when you think you've got the groove sussed, he'll turn it upside down and throw you a curveball! Keep your ears out for this one!
Mayzee has been around the Portsmouth scene in one way or another for a few years now. Very versatile, and equally at home playing dubby house numbers all the way through to tear-the-roof-off techno! Having played at nights such as Down Town and Under Your Nose, Error are very proud to have him play for them too! Expect the unexpected – we could get anything and everything, but it'll be blended to perfection through Mayzee's skilled hands, and will be a true highlight and a welcome return for Error!
Error residents will also be present – expect some debauchery brought by Rogue State & Mike Cubist along the way and not to forget the return of former Dusted resident MARK MARTIN who will be spinning some deep house with a tribal techy edge to it!
Door tax is … nothing before 9pm, so get down there early! Slackers will have to fork out £2 (hardly breaks the bank – haha!!). Doors open at 7pm, and close at around 1ish, plenty of time to get the party on!
