The third release from new label ‘Katorza’ bought to you by label head Maelstrom who’s label mantra is similar to that of their own releases, to deliver top notch music, be it taking in the styles of breaks, electro, techno and all with a serious dollop of funk to get the party going.

Maelstrom has had releases on Jalapeno Records, Rotax, Labrok, Menu Music, West Records and Expressillon. Maelstrom has quite simply exploded onto the scene in the past two and half years, drawing the support of artists across the globe, including the likes of Aquasky, Elite Force, Krafty Kuts, Affie Yussuf, Dj Zinc, Heavyfeet, Dopamine, Rennie Pilgrem, or Soul of Man.

Newcomers on the scene, Sebastian Klimt, DJ and former member of Berlin based electro act Neo Filigrante, and Sascha Burghard, both living in Düsseldorf (Germany), recently founded Shila's Bedroom Fashion to establish their own vision of mayhem for the dancefloor.

Their first single "I Like Skirts" is a mixture of banging beats, screaming synths and the furious vocals of Californian rapper Ms. Vybe - a fist-in-the-air club tune with production ethos reminding of Boys Noize or Justice : tough techno beats, outer space melodies and distorted basslines.

"She definitely has the same powerful attitude as the track itself," says producer Sascha Burghard, "It's just in-your-face!"
Therefore joining forces was a no-brainer for the producer team and gave them the ability to create a bastard love child of dance and hiphop.
Label heads Maelstrom & Redux provide the remix work on the B-Side, turning this electro monster into a breaks anthem.

Early Supports by : Plaza de Funk (West), Kid Blue (Lot49), Far Too Loud (funkatech), Dj Icey, Groove Allegiance, Dave No Hands (Mixmag) ...
